🎨 Left-Handed, Right-Hearted: Why AJ’s Way Is Always the Best Way

When you’re raising a little warrior like AJ, you start to notice all the little things that make him one-of-a-kind. One of those things?

He’s left-handed.

It might not seem like a big deal at first, but in our world, everything is a little more complex—and a little more magical. From gripping crayons with his left fist to swatting spoons away during feeding therapy, AJ’s left hand is his lead, and I absolutely love that about him.

💚 Lefty Life in a Right-Handed World

Being left-handed means AJ often has to find his own way—something he’s already getting good at. Whether it’s learning how to wave, reach for his favorite toy, or even accidentally smack me during a tantrum (we’re working on that!), his left hand is always the first to act.

And honestly? I admire that about him. He’s not just adapting—he’s redefining what progress looks like. On his terms. In his own way. With his little left hand leading the charge.

🧩 Why It Matters

In a life filled with tube feeds, therapy sessions, and daily challenges most people never see, it’s easy to get caught up in milestones and checklists. But sometimes, it’s the quirks—the traits that aren’t in any baby book—that remind me just how special AJ is.

Left-handedness is more than a fun fact. For AJ, it’s a symbol of his individuality, his independence, and the way he tackles the world differently from day one.

✨ Tiny Hands, Big Impact

There’s a fierce kind of softness in AJ’s hands—especially that dominant left one. It’s the hand that reaches for me when he’s frustrated, the one he uses to explore new textures in feeding therapy, the one that clutches his stuffed bunny when he’s sleepy.

It’s not just about what hand he uses. It’s about how he uses it—with determination, creativity, and a spark that makes him…him.

So here’s to AJ’s left hand.

To doing things differently.

To rewriting the rulebook.

And to celebrating every single part of who he is.
